Women’s Club Major Pairs 2020

The Championship Pairs final was played between last year’s winners Marg Davies and Lorraine Donney and first timers Linda Toohey and Penny Auld.

Linda’s bowls were consistently on the jack and Penny played some brilliant shots taking the jack to her teams bowls to have a commanding lead by the 16th end.

Experience then played a part over the next 5 ends with Marg bowling brilliantly as lead to put bowls consistently round the jack with Lorraine cleverly adding to the head. As a result they got 14 shots in 3 ends and took over the lead. Unfortunately Linda and Penny were unable to match their opponents skill in the final 2 ends and the former champions ran out winners for the second year in a row.

It was a wonderful game to watch with the spectators very appreciative of the high level of bowls being played by the four players.
